About this event

The regular monthly DVAA Astrophotography Workshop is a free, open session for participants to discuss and share images and techniques. (In general, the workshop falls on the Wednesday before the monthly DVAA General Meeting.)

The first half hour of the AP Workshop, from approximately 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm will be a Beginner's Q&A session.  So, if you're new to astrophotography, please join us at 7:00 pm and ask away.  All levels of questions are welcome.

The regular part of the AP Workshop will start at around 7:30 pm.  Participants are encouraged to join early for the introduction of new attendees, a special topic of interest from time to time, a Show & Tell session, and for Q&A.

This month's workshop will feature a presentation by DVAA member Prasad Agrahar on the development, fabrication and use of his Spectroheliograph (SHG) solar imaging device.  Prasad will discuss what went into researching and building the SHG, along with using it with freely available software to capture images of the Sun in various wavelengths (e.g. - H-alpha, H-beta, Calcium-K, etc.).  I'm sure you'll agree that the images Prasad has been posting on the DVAA groups dot io email site are very impressive to say the least, so please join in to learn more about this exciting topic.

As time permits following the feature presentation, we'll have the Show & Tell portion of the workshop.  Here participants are encouraged to share images they've taken or processed recently, and to discuss or show new astrophotography equipment or projects they're working on.  Other topics of discussion may include image acquisition tips, processing workflows, hardware and software setups, with occasional presentations focusing on aspects of deep sky object or planetary imaging.

The event is live streamed to the @DelawareValleyAmateurAstro YouTube Channel.

NOTE: The Zoom link does not change and will only become active and working during the actual meeting time. No registration is required.
